Twitter traction (tracking) tip: Using the hashtag #.
I have used it on occasion, but now I am making it a part of the directory twitter promotions.
To my listings, especially for shorter messages, I add something like:
#muskogee Free listing in #muskogeeDirectory
Now if you go to twitter and search for #muskogee you will see several local listings, but if you search for #muskogeedirectory those are specific to my directory. I can use this to share with prospects that I actually do promote them via twitter.
I am testing adding the words free listing vs courtesy listing.

full example: since Muskogee ( or your place) name should be in the listing, you can just add a ( # ) in front of our city name.
example:
Sound World in #Muskogee Oklahoma Free listing in #muskogeeDirectory click here 2012-05-19 02:53:24
