Making A Living!
Many of you know how much I enjoy words and phrases; the alternative means and nuances provide dynamic interaction in our communication with others.  What you say could be much different than what another person heard!
The phrase "making a living" is a good example in that most people reading this will probably translate it to refer to a person's employment. The traditional view of it has connected the "what do you do?" to "what is your job?". "Making a living" in a more literal sense sounds like things one does to get the most out of life, doesn't it?! The nice thing about the internet and the direction that things are rapidly moving is that the traditional understanding of "making a living" and the more literal sense of it can now be merged into doing things to earn income online that are also social interactions that can enhance our lives.
If presented with the opportunity to work from anywhere a person wanted, and with encouragement to "think outside of the box" it is likely that many people would NOT choose to endure a daily commute to a cubicle with a structured time schedule. Yet when given the chance to do something much more appealing ... like a commute down the hallway or sitting on the beach with laptop ... there are still a lot of people that are too insecure to unplug from that regular paycheck. The thing that really amazes me is that many people work harder doing more difficult and complicated tasks than many online programs require and people will endure the hardships of earning that paycheck rather than venture into cyberspace to make a living.

Pennies By The Pound!
It is sometimes hard to get excited about a penny these days ... there have even been discussions on just doing away with them altogether. Mostly they just collect in jars and piggy banks.
